Email should belong to the people who use it
Delivr is a modern mail client built on a simple belief: you shouldn't have to trade your privacy, your data, or your freedom to switch for a good inbox.
Email is the most open communication network ever built. Anyone can run a server, any client can talk to any server, and nobody owns it. That's remarkable — and worth protecting.
Yet the inboxes most people use fall into two camps: closed platforms that pay for themselves with your attention and your data, and self-hosted webmail that hasn't felt modern in a decade. If you care about privacy, you're asked to accept a worse experience.
Delivr is the third option. A fast, installable, genuinely modern client — paired with a self-hosted, open-source backend that speaks the same open protocols as everything else. You get the experience you expect from big-tech mail, on infrastructure you control.
A mail client should be a window onto your mailbox — not a new place your mail has to live.
What we build on
Six principles guide every feature, every review, and every trade-off we make.
Your mail, your server
Delivr is a client, not a silo. Your messages stay on your IMAP server — Delivr reads them live and never builds a copy of its own.
Open standards over lock-in
IMAP and SMTP today, CalDAV and CardDAV tomorrow. If you ever leave, every other mail client still works with your mailbox. Nothing to export.
Private by default
Remote content is blocked until you allow it, nothing is tracked, and there is no telemetry. Privacy isn't a toggle you have to find.
Open source, all of it
The web client and the API are both AGPL-3.0. Anyone can read, audit, and improve the code — and improvements stay open for everyone.
Self-hosting is first-class
Container images, sane defaults, an SQLite database that just works, and documentation that assumes you have better things to do.
Fast and focused
A clean, dark-first interface that loads like an app and gets out of your way. Features earn their place; clutter doesn't.
What Delivr is built never to do
Some things aren't features we left out — they're things the architecture makes impossible or pointless. And because the code is open, you can check every one of them.
- Show you ads or sponsored messages
- Scan your mail to build a profile of you
- Sell, rent, or share your data
- Phone home with telemetry or analytics
- Lock your mail into a proprietary format
The best of both worlds
Delivr combines the experience of big-tech webmail with the freedom of running your own.
